2026 Endorsements

The San Benito County Democratic Central Committee endorses candidates through a fair and transparent review process designed to help voters make informed choices.

November 3, 2026 General Election

SBCDCC is preparing its General Election endorsement review. Candidate filing closes August 7, with a possible extension through August 12 in races where an incumbent does not file and qualify.

After filing closes, the Central Committee will confirm the races selected for active endorsement review.

To be eligible for consideration, a candidate must be registered with the Democratic Party. Eligible candidates in races selected for review will receive the same notice, materials, deadlines, and interview opportunities.

General Election endorsements will be posted here after the Committee completes its review and notifies participating candidates.

Are You a Democratic Candidate?

If you are running for local office in San Benito County—or are seriously considering a campaign—we encourage you to review the endorsement process and connect with us early.

Visit our Stay Connected page and check the box indicating that you would like to learn more about running for office or the SBCDCC endorsement process.

Connecting with SBCDCC does not guarantee that a race will be selected for review or that a candidate will receive an endorsement. It helps us identify prospective Democratic candidates and make sure they receive relevant information when the endorsement process begins.

Candidates must separately contact the San Benito County Elections Department for official eligibility requirements, nomination documents, filing deadlines, and campaign procedures.
